What is Aurous about?

Aurous is the 6 stage mentoring programme which takes you on a journey of working through a problem to setting some achievable goals. Through positive guidance, the mentoring sessions should enable you to better explain the issues you are struggling with, start to uncover how valuable you are (and why you are allowed to want things to be better for yourself), look at all the different options you have and then create some plans. We’ll then help you to track how the process is going and help you move towards some positive changes.

Aurous is for anyone aged 11-18 in Sheffield who is having trouble making sense of a situation and maybe not quite knowing where to start making things better. It is for you if you are ready to look for the positive steps forward and happy to have someone who will both listen to you and challenge you to make changes and try new things. You will normally have a specific issue you want to talk about and see change in, but what that is is up to you. It may be coping with school stress, worrying about friendships, unhealthy or risky behaviours, anxiety, problems at home… there’s no specific type of problem you need to have. Your mentor will plan sessions just for you and the topics it would be helpful for you to discuss together once they have met you.

Is Aurous for you?

Interested in Aurous? We’d love you to book onto an Explorative Chat below with one of our team to talk through your goals and work out how we can best support you! This is a great space to talk about any previous wellbeing courses you’ve completed, and how these have helped you, and help you make sense of things that you’re still looking for support with through mentoring.

  • “My experience with Golddigger Trust has helped me see light at the end of the tunnel and feel hopeful about my future, helping me find positives even in negative situations.”

  • “The most important thing I’ve learnt during mentoring is finding my self worth. As soon as you find that you see the good things as well as the bad things. Then you can focus on the good more than the bad.”

  • “The biggest thing that has changed because of mentoring is my mindset. I now identify my problems and then do something about it to better myself and to better how I feel”
